According to Hollywood Reporter , Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame has been pegged to play rocker Joan Jett in the Runaways movie. She’s already working on her bad reputation (heh-sorry) so we’ll see how she does, it’s not a bad choice actually. We were speculating back in June that it should be Ellen Page or Olivia Thirby. What do you think? I personally love the Runaways, so am excited to see it, apparently Joan is a producer as well.
The NY Times today had an interesting article about how the early Earth may have looked. By studying crystals in Australian rocks, (pictured on the left), scientists have formed what they think is a more accurate picture of what Earth actually looked like, as depicted in the image on the right. Isn’t it incredible? I had no idea that the Earth looked exactly like my trapper keeper I had in 3rd grade! All that’s missing is a couple of dolphins or Orca whales jumping out of the water.
Due to the displaced trains during this Holiday weekend, I was lost on my way uptown when all of a sudden (Polar-Express-style) this old beautiful matte metal green train circa 1930 pulled into the Subway station. At the time I was too in awe to get on, but fortunately every Sunday during December, this nostalgia train will be running on the V track from 10 am to 5 pm.

Remember when Molly Ringwald’s character Andy would bite her lip, roll her eyes up and squeal in delight whenever she had a ‘Too ecstatic for words’ moment? I bet you anything that if she had viewed the Pink and Blue Projects created by JeongMee Yoon, she’d be tickled pink.
Inspired by her five-year-old daughter’s near fatal attraction to the color pink, Yoon created a thesis that explores the cultural trends and ideas of kids from different ethnicities and backgrounds as well as raising other issues, such as capitalism and consumerism.
Visit her website to learn more about the project and to view the too-cute pictures of children in various pink and blue settings.

While some may be wasting precious tv time (and brain cells) watching Britney’s documentary tonite, I was thrilled to catch a show on a very different blonde entertainer, Miss Mitzi Gaynor in her interview special on PBS, called Razzle Dazzle: The Special Years. Perhaps I truly am a gay man trapped in a womans body, but for some reason, I just cant get enough of Mitzi and her outfits and dance moves. Most of the show was scenes from her 70’s variety show, Razzle Dazzle (filmed when she was in her early 40’s), she had a truly amazing physique but she’s just a juggernaut of go-go moves and Bob Mackie vegas glitz, it’s really fun. The PBS show is interspersed with live Mitzi (she looks fabulous btw) discussing her various roles like in South Pacific etc, but its the Razzle Dazzle that gets me. I guess variety shows (ala Sonny and Cher) are a thing of the past, I can’t think of anyone that could pull this off today, I dare you to watch this and not crack a smile.
Even Tyra Banks cannot control herself around Rob Pattinson. She got all gooey with him on her show yesterday, and asked him to bite her neck. Someone (probably a publicist) must have told her that he was a fan of the show, yet Pattinson seemed to have no idea what she was talking about when she tried to get him to explain his favorite episode. The rest of the show was actually pretty cute, they gave away a car from the movie to one of the Twilight fans who had been roughed up at a book signing or something. alot of screaming went down. All in all, Tyra was clearly flirting with R., slipping into her fake British accent to boot! I woner if she got lucky after the show?
